What happens when you land at KLIA

Your booking name is on a board before your flight touches down. We track the flight, so if you land twenty minutes early or two hours late, the driver’s timing moves with you. Clear immigration, collect your bags, and walk to the pickup door for your terminal.

At KLIA Terminal 1, take the lift or escalator down to Level 1 and head for Door 6. At KLIA Terminal 2, the meeting point is Level 2, Door 3, on the same level as the international arrival hall. Both doors open onto the covered kerb, so you are never crossing a car park with a trolley. If you cannot see the board, message the driver on the WhatsApp number we send you the evening before.

The drive into the city takes about an hour on the ELITE and MEX expressways. Late evening and early morning are quicker. A weekday morning arrival can add 20 to 30 minutes once you reach the Jalan Tun Razak approach, which is why our drivers use the MEX rather than the Federal Highway for Bukit Bintang and KLCC hotels.

Which option should you choose?

• Economy sedan is the lowest price for one to three people with cabin bags or two suitcases. Same fixed price, same meet and greet, standard sedan.
• Private (choose vehicle) lets you pick the car for your group: standard sedan for two, MPV for a family of four with full luggage, Toyota Hiace for up to seven, CAM Placer van for up to twelve, or a Toyota Alphard or Vellfire if you want captain seats after a long flight.
• Changing room and breakfast is for early arrivals. If you land at 6 am and your hotel will not let you in until 2 pm, the driver stops at a rest facility where you can shower, change, and eat before heading into the city.

Luggage is the usual reason people pick the wrong car. A standard sedan takes two large suitcases in the boot. Three suitcases plus hand luggage for four people needs the MPV. When in doubt, go one size up; the difference is MYR 20.

Going back to the airport

Book the KL City to KLIA option and tell us your hotel at checkout. The driver waits in the lobby at the booked time. For international flights we recommend a pickup three and a half hours before departure from central KL, and four hours from Mont Kiara or Petaling Jaya on a weekday evening. The same expressway tolls and waiting time are included, and you are dropped at the departure kerb of the right terminal.

Why book this instead of a taxi or Grab

The airport taxi counter and Grab both work at KLIA. The difference is what happens when things go wrong. A delayed flight at 11 pm means a long taxi queue and Grab surge pricing that can double the fare. A fixed private transfer is the same price at 11 pm as at 11 am, the driver already knows you are late, and the car is sized for your bags. For a couple with luggage the private transfer is often cheaper than a surged Grab, and for a family it almost always is.
