Kota Kinabalu International Airport is unusually close to the city, about 10 km, so most transfers are short: 20 minutes to the waterfront and city hotels, under half an hour to the Tanjung Aru and Sutera Harbour resorts, and 45 minutes to an hour up the coast to Rasa Ria and Nexus Karambunai.
